Former Shooting Guard for Dallas Mavericks Announces Retirement

Jonathan Clay "JJ" Redick (born June 24, 1984) is a retired American professional basketball player. He spent 15 seasons in the National Basketball Association (NBA), most notably with the Orlando Magic, Los Angeles Clippers, Philadelphia 76ers, New Orleans Pelicans, and Dallas Mavericks.

Redick was known for his shooting ability, particularly his three-point shot. He is one of only seven players in NBA history to make at least 2,000 three-pointers. He was also a two-time All-Star and was named to the All-NBA Second Team in 2014.

Redick announced his retirement on September 20, 2022, via his podcast, The JJ Redick Podcast. He said that he had been considering retirement for some time and that he ultimately decided to step away from the game because he no longer felt like he could play at the level he expected of himself.
